oh joy
Guess who's gettin up at 6am tomorrow to go to her favourite place in the world, barred in, security guarded colegio, on a saturday! :) every saturday for the next four months.
Nope.
Apparently university is not an option. Something about how I'm only 17, and everyone in AFS Canada AND Peru understands my position, but they also just started work on the visa or something? Not sure what that has to do with it. Not to mention many of the other classmates, including Jhoselyn my host sister, are also 17. :((((
I didn't go to colegio today because I slept in and missed the 7:20 cut off. I was talking to Luis, one of my friends in my class and he said yet again, no work of any sort was accomplished, and nothing was done. So sounds like I didn't miss much. Or anything. God if this is how every day at colegio is going to be, there's NO WAY I'm staying here longer than February. I'd rather shoot myself; especially because my classmates in colegio graduate in December, and if I stay past February, I'd have to stay in the 5th grade (our gr12) and be with even YOUNGER people, while my current classmates go to university. Wow. This sucks. Sorry for complaining. >.<
:((( No more dancing AND no more university. Aiaiaaiii hahaha so many rules ! :S

Colegio. Weeee :(
Monday I went to university again because it was the last day of the anniversary for my colegio and there were no classes yet again.. and it was matematicas :) I love math! Expecially when I know what I'm doing haha but it was all the algebra and function stuff we learned in grade 10 (gr9 for me). FACIL. But I love all the other students, many of them I already know from Jhoselyn's friends, and I like the pace of university much more. It's more serious.
Then Tuesday I went to my first day of colegio, uniform and all. Most boring day of my life. Most slow paced, lack of work, waste of time 7 hours of my existence. In the first class we accomplished nothing; the teacher just sat there and let us visit and chat about our weekend and such. Wow. Then he wrote something on the board about guidelines for some project, but didn't say what the project was, but it's due Friday. Ooookaayyyyy then.. Then we had math, and it was super easy again, trigonometry, but it's weird, because it's the gr12 level math i did last year. But the university math is easier?! So silly. But it's only the basic concepts, not the same level of questions and such. Then the professor for the last class didn't even show up, so we just sat there until dismissal. Yay.
Today was very much the same. Boring classes, no work, teachers that don't show up, wasting time. I fell asleep three times. Oops. But then afterwards I went to watch Junior's talent show and bought a pair of jeans. Hurrayyy!

Hoy Diaa
Aah. Just typed this whole thing and my computer went whacko. Don't feel like recreating it but heeere i go!
Dancing was awesome! Most fun I've had this far on the trip, but found out today that I'm DEFINITELY not allowed, even though Nancy, my host madre, gave me the okay to go with Jhoselyn and some more of her awesome, decent seeming friends :P If I go again it's byebye Mia, byebye Peru, and back to exciting old Whitehorse! Definitely not gonna risk that!! The reasoning is that apparently you have to be 18, and sometimes the policia go and check for people's papers, and that can lead to an awkward situation. Little crazy. Wonder why they let me in in the first place? I definitely don't look very old haha, but I did notice that a lot of other people, who were obviously older than me, were carded. Weird weird but anyways, it was an awesome last time :P Startin to love dancing!
Today there was another AFS related get together at Louise's host family's house. We each had to prepare and present a food dish from our country. One of the Belgian girls Laetitia made the best waffles I've ever tasted. Not even joking! I wasn't sure what to make, because Canada is so multicultural. All I could think of was poutine and maple syrup, until mom suggested I make banana boats. Delicious and easy to make, and they're a camping food. Not a lot of camping in Peru, and people loved it. It's surprisingly hard to find tinfoil though! My host family didn't even know what it was!! Hahahaha oh my. Interesting.
Nancy spoke to Jose (AFS) about me wanting to go to University, and then he came and spoke with me. I really wish she hadn't, because I asked her not to so that I could wait until I've actually TRIED going to a few days or a week of classes in colegio first before even bringing it up. Anyways, he was a little apprehensive/weary about it, and said he himself cannot do anything, and that I must talk to AFS Canada to see if it's even possible to change programs, and that it's kinda a pain in the butt. I hate being a pain... I was embarassed too, because I didn't want to speak with him about it until I've tried it. He got the impression that I don't have a very open mind and such and aasdkajdslajdlsad. :( oops.
Forgot to ask him about whether staying in Peru longer means I have to stay until July, or if I can leave earlier, like April or May. Might have to say I'm doing the year program and then leave early. The Icelandic girl is leaving next month because it's just really not the right thing for her. Sooo who knows.
